Remember Me?

Hello blog, it's me again. I'm sorry that I have been neglecting you. I have been a bad blogger lately and just completely lost interest in posting for the last few months. Even though I have plenty of stuff to share with you, I'm just too lazy...

So in hopes that you will accept my appology, I have brought a peace offering: more inline shots! These are of a cool dude from the WA that blades pretty hard and knows how to respresent. Dustin is his name, and we hooked up for a photo shoot last Saturday in the drizzle/rain that we like to call liquid sunshine.

Here are a few I have to share with you:

Outside Looking In

So on the last night of the Washington County Fair, I headed over after dark to get some shots of the rides. Little did I know that they stopped letting people in at 10pm, I arrived at 10:30pm. Slightly bummed and unable to find a hole big enough for me to slip through unnoticed, I just walked down the sidewalk and nabbed a few shots from there. I am happy with what I ended up with.

Colorful Explosions

Last month the family and I made the short trek down to Newberg to catch the fireworks show that they hold on the last saturday in July to close out the Old Days festival. We have been attending the show for the last four to five years with our church. This year was an interesting one becuase we had our dog Scotty with us. The reason why he was there is becuase we adopted another dog, whom we named Charlie, the same night.

This was Scotty's first fireworks show so he was quite freaked during the first few minutes of the show so I had to hold him down to prevent him from running off.

Once he settled down, I was able to free one had to take some shots of the fireworks. Suprisingly I was able to get quite a few shots while holding my camera in one hand and keeping Scotty at bay with the other.

Here are a few of the results.

Ugh!

getting the dreaded Err99 on the 40. This is the kind of thing that can bring you to your knees and beg God for redemption if you are attatched to your camera like i am. or rather throw it out the window. :-)

so at this point i have no idea what is causing the errors to occur. i thought that it maybe the 17-85mm but then i got the error tonight using my 50mm. i cleaned the lens contacts on the camera so i don't think that is the problem. the shutter seems to be operating fine. battery contacts and voltages are in check. memory cards are good.....

another thing i just tried is doing a complete reset of the camera by taking out both the main battery and the clock battery, no lens and no memory card and let the camera sit for ~20 min. let's hope this works. if it doesnt, then i may have to recheck the shutter....

blah!

i am managing to get some shots in between the rampant camera failures. i'll post some when i get my hands on the card reader....
